• 78% of alumni businesses reported being profitable.
• $399 million in government contracting secured by alumni businesses.
• 60% of alumni CEOs stay connected to fellow participants, with 29% doing business with each other.
• 68% of alumni businesses added or retained jobs.

BASIC ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS 

• Business located in Atlanta with a Fulton or Dekalb County address
• Black or Brown business owner maintaining at least 51% business ownership
• Annual revenue between $175,000 and $5,000,000
• A minimum of two employees besides the owner(s).
• Been in business for at least 3 years.
• Willingness and ability to attend a 7-month course, complete mandatory assignments, and complete program surveys as requested.

MEET THE INSTRUCTOR

Entrepreneurship Instructor for Morehouse College

Founder of Consciously Funded

Lavonya Jones is passionate about entrepreneurship as a solution to economic injustice and inequality. An Atlanta native and resident, Lavonya graduated from Hampton University, earning her BS in Entrepreneurship. She has pursued additional education to include a MA in Organizational Leadership with a concentration in Coaching and Mentoring and is completing an EdD in Organizational Leadership with her research focus on Entrepreneurial Leadership. As a third-generation HBCU graduate, she also serves as an Entrepreneurship Instructor for Morehouse College, the founder of a social justice media company, Consciously Funded, and the Director of Student Programs for the Morehouse Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center where she works with students at Minority Serving Institutions around the country, creating pathways for them into entrepreneurship, technology, and venture capital. She has committed much of her career to examine the ends and outs of what makes entrepreneurs succeed while working for seventeen years as a creative industry entrepreneur.. Additionally, Lavonya is a certified business coach, with over fifteen years of leadership development experience training students, entrepreneurs, and professionals within for-profit and non-profit sectors.
